We have moved - but not far
Monday, August 9th, 2010 | Uncategorized | No Comments
Our relocation is complete! We are still located in the First Tennessee Plaza in downtown Knoxville, Tennessee, but we have moved from the 19th to the 21st floor. We are still getting settled in, but we are excited about our new space. We think the new design is more efficient so that we can serve you better. Our phone numbers, email addresses, and other contact info remain the same. Only our suite number has changed, to Suite 2150. Please make a note of it to ensure that we don’t miss each other. We look forward to seeing you in our new office.
Best Place to Raise a Family

We’re proud to call Knoxville home. It’s not perfect, but it’s a pretty darn good place to live and do business. We’re pleased to be ranked in the top ten out of the largest 100 metropolitan areas by Forbes magazine. The authors looked at cost of living, prevalence of home ownership, median household income, housing costs, commute time, crime, and the percentage of young adults that graduate high school to rank our fine city number eight as one of America’s best places to raise a family. We’re pleased to receive this national recognition to go with our other high rankings over the past few years.
Back From Break

We are back in the office this week after taking a week off to regain our sanity and reacquaint with our families. It was a very busy tax season, as usual, but we were happy to get to catch up on the year’s news with our clients.
I had a chance to look at the April edition of Knoxville magazine over the break, and I found a photo of Van and his wife flanking their daughter. She is a very talented member of Go! Contemporary Dance Works, a non-profit dance company based in Knoxville’s Studio Arts for Dancers school. Studio Arts holds their annual recital on Mother’s Day weekend, Saturday May 8 in the beautiful Tennessee Theatre.

The Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development will begin enforcement of the Illegal Alien Employment Act in January of 2008. Under the law, an employer who knowingly hires an illegal immigrant could lose any local or state issued license related to his business for up to one year. “Those who knowingly violate the law do face penalties,” said Labor and Workforce Development Commissioner James Neeley. “The first violation resulting in a suspension of a business license until the person shows there are no longer any violations; a second or subsequent violation occurring within three year from the first offense results in a one-year license suspension.”
