CPA Accountant Van Elkins

Van Elkins graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a major in Accounting. He became a Certified Public Accountant in February 1972. Building on his expertise, he became a Certified Valuation Analyst in July 2006 by the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts. Van was Accredited in Business Valuation in August 2006 and became Certified in Financial Forensics in October 2008, both by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Upon graduating from the University of Tennessee, Van was employed by an international auditing firm in their Chattanooga office. Two years later he moved back to Knoxville to do accounting, auditing, and tax work for a local Certified Public Accounting Firm. In September 1973 Van started his own firm which he still manages today, providing consulting, accounting, auditing, tax, and litigation support services. He has attended various seminars and update courses each year since 1972 to hone his skills in these areas. Since 1990, he has attended a minimum of eighty (80) hours of continuing professional education every two years, ensuring his knowledge and expertise remain current with industry standards and practices.

Van has testified as an expert witness in Federal District Court, U.S. Bankruptcy Court, State Chancery Court, and State Circuit Court. He has been involved either as an expert witness or a consultant in a variety of different cases. He actively participates in professional organizations and continues to contribute to the accounting field through his extensive experience and dedication to professional development.
